Recipes for toddlers

Playdough recipe:

Here is an easy and successful playdough recipe, my favorite.

1 cup flour
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/2 cup salt
¾ cup boiling water (add the water slowly to see how much you need)
food coloring

Step: 1. Add ingredients with your children together. Stir and knead until smooth

  1. Store in a sealed container. No need to be refrigerated.

Banana Bread Recipe:

I often bake banana bread with children to celebrate special moments using my grandma’s simple banana bread recipe.

A: 2 mashed bananas, 1/4 C cooking oil

B: 1 egg, 1/2 C brown sugar

C: 1 and 1/2 C self-rising flour(if not available, stir together regular flour with a mix in 1t baking soda, and 1/4t salt in separate bowl).

Step: Mix A ingredients.

          Add B, and mix well.

Fold in C ingredients. Don’t over-stir so it won’t develop gluten.

          Bake at 325 F for 55-60 minutes.
